In 2003, Ford not only announced the
re-introduction of the Ford GT40, but they were set to release the re-tooled F-150. It was an exciting year, and Ford asked bonspeed to create the ultimate F-150.
bonspeed conceived a pickup that would have the attributes of the forthcoming Ford GT. It would be done by creating a one-off show car with the drivetrain similar to the GT and a suspension to match. A new pre-production F-150 was delivered to bonspeed, followed soon after by a supercharged 32-valve motor from Roush Racing. The suspension is hand-fabricated, as is the use of a six-speed Tremac transmission and virtually every part on this vehicle. The vehicle was taken down to sheet metal and rebuilt. The result is a vehicle that performs as well as it looks.
